L’archaeological area includes the acropolis of the city of Herakleia, founded in 433/32 BC, and the urban sanctuaries.
The orthogonal urban layout is partially visible, along whose axes the housing units consisting of residential environments and production units are arranged around an open central courtyard. In the late-Hellenistic age, the peristyle house model is present.
The sacred areas are dedicated to the cult of Dionysus (the foundations of the temple and the adjacent agora with the altar are visible) and Demeter (articulated on two terraces)
