The museum, whose interiors are decorated with tempera featuring Greek key patterns, is divided into an artistic section, with paintings by Neapolitan and Sicilian painters (16th-19th century), an archaeological section with Greco-Roman artifacts, a numismatic collection, a naturalistic section, and a malacological collection. The building and the displayed collections are the result of a testamentary legacy from the Scaglione family, who wished to entrust the city of Sciacca with the precious assets collected by the illustrious Sciacca native.
