Among the many things to do in Naples, here is one with timeless charm: witnessing the Fountain of the Esedra show.
Within the Isola delle Passioni area, it is the Mostra D’Oltre Mare that offers this dazzling and enchanting opportunity to observe the marvelous water displays of this monumental fountain, a true architectural jewel.
The Fountain of the Esedra is located inside the Mostra D’Oltremare park and consists of 76 trapezoidal basins arranged in four concentric semi-rings, encircling the central basin.
All this extends over 37,000 square meters of waterfalls, water movements, lights, jets, and more than 1300 nozzles. This grand architectural and hydraulic engineering complex brings to life the sinuous dances of water jets, illuminated by beams from over 800 lamps per basin, shining in white, yellow, red, and green hues.

The fountain was built in 1938 and has enchanted visitors ever since; it is a Naples attraction still relatively unknown but deserving much more appreciation, on par with the famous magic fountain of Montjuïc in Barcelona.
