The Ethnographic Museum of Peasant and Artisan Tools, variously called the Ethnographic Museum of Master Craftsmen and Peasant Civilization, housed in the premises of the Professional Institute for Agriculture and Environment of Genzano di Lucania, was established in 2000 by Prof. Vito Lauria, then principal of the aforementioned institute, with the collaboration of the students. The exhibition, born from a project started in the 1998/99 school year and funded by the Public Education Department of the Provincial Administration of Potenza, features objects from the territory of Genzano di Lucania all subjected to inventory procedures. The collection, long-term on loan, includes agricultural tools, domestic utensils, furnishings, and tools for the artisan trades of the shoemaker, cooper, and blacksmith. The exhibition is also enriched by three permanent photographic exhibitions dedicated to the school of the past, the history of agriculture, and the people, customs, and traditions of Genzano.
