The cultivation of hemp in the Carmagnola area has ancient origins; raw fiber and very strong ropes were subjects of a thriving trade, both nationally and internationally.
The Ecomuseum of Hemp Culture and Processing, established at the site of the last existing hemp processing site, preserves under a long shed ancient tools and extensive documentation on the traditional rope-making process.
