Located in the center of Città di Castello, not far from the Cathedral of Saints Florido and Amanzio, to which it also belongs, the cylindrical bell tower is one of the city’s architectural symbols. Its cylindrical structure recalls the bell towers of Ravenna. The exterior blocks indicate the different construction phases: in the lower part, 11th – 12th century, the blocks are smaller, while in the upper part, 13th – 14th century, they are larger. The structure, 43.50 meters tall with an average diameter of 7 meters, ends with a conical crown where the bell chamber with three bells is located. Recent restoration work allows access through a complex system of stairs and comfortable landings leading up to the bell chamber with its conical crown.
