The Museum, spread over about 150 sqm, was officially inaugurated in June 2006 and aims to be, besides a center of culture in the field of history and military technology, also a site in remembrance of those tragic and decisive events that shook Romagna and beyond.
The interior spaces are four. The first is designed to help understand, through thematic maps, how the Italo-German and Allied armies moved across Europe, Africa, and Italy from 1939 to 1945, and thanks to mannequins carefully prepared with original period accessories and garments, soldiers of both armies are immediately recognizable.
In the second, you can find all sorts of memorabilia divided according to the armed forces they belong to, found in our countryside or donated by locals. These consist exclusively of equipment, weapons, and uniforms used by the armies that fought over our hills, in our woods, and surrounding territories.
In the third, a splendid photographic documentation has been set up, testifying to the period of the two decades, Mussolini’s visit to Sogliano, the passage of the Front, and the damage caused by the war.
