The National Institute for Graphic Arts in Rome collects the collections of two historic institutions, the National Cabinet of Prints and the National Chalcography, formerly the pontifical publishing house.
It houses a heritage of prints, drawings, engraved plates, and photographic works of international significance both in scale and in the original nature of the historical collections acquired there, which for over a century have constituted a fundamental reference point for the study of graphic arts from the 15th century to the contemporary period.
