L’Istituto Nazionale per la Grafica di Roma collects the collections of two historic institutions, the Gabinetto Nazionale delle Stampe and the Calcografia Nazionale, formerly a papal editorial office.
It preserves a heritage of prints, drawings, engraved plates, and photographic works of international importance both in scope and in the original nature of the historical collections it holds, which for over a century have constituted a fundamental reference point for the study of graphic arts from the 15th century to the contemporary period.
