The National Institute for Graphics of Rome gathers the collections of two historic institutions, the National Cabinet of Prints and the National Chalcography, formerly a pontifical editorial office.
It preserves a heritage of prints, drawings, engraved plates, and photographic works of international significance for both the size and the original nature of the historical collections arrived there, which for over a century have constituted a fundamental point of reference for the study of graphics from the 15th century to the contemporary era.
