The archaeological remains mainly consist of the remnants of a domus from the second half of the 1st century AD. The structure stood about eighty meters north of the western city gate (Torre Rossa), which indeed closed the western end of the decumanus maximus (corresponding to today’s Corso Alfieri). Among the remains of the domus, a particularly interesting feature is the mosaic carpet (3 m x 1.70 m) that decorated the white cocciopesto floor of the dining room (triclinium). The mosaic, with a white background and inserts of round, rectangular, and rhomboid colored marble tiles, is enriched with figures of fish and ivy sprigs and is bordered by two frames of black and white tiles: one in a herringbone pattern and, on the outside, a braid.
