Of ancient origins, the Castello di Castiglione Falletto established itself in the Middle Ages as the “Castrum et villa” owned by the Marquisate of Saluzzo. Over the centuries, various noble families alternated in leading the town, dominated by the imposing quadrangular fortress. The architectural complex, which was a stronghold of the Alberese Falletti family, presents itself as a massive irregularly shaped structure that follows the terrain’s contours. It is characterized by two imposing round towers at the corners and a third central tower, also circular but even larger in size. The buildings, dating from different periods, were constructed according to various needs: for example, around the mid-19th century, the Vassallo di Dogliani undertook numerous renovations of the fortress, elevating it to the dignity of a noble residence.
