The archaeological area includes a sector of the monumental necropolis that developed between the late Hellenistic age and the early Imperial age along an extra-urban road axis which, leading out from the ancient city of Abella, headed west towards the Campanian plain. The complex open to the public comprises four funerary mausoleums enclosed by fences and built in opus incertum or reticulatum, with brick inserts. The mausoleums fit within architectural typologies widely known in other contemporary centers of ancient Campania.
