Nel 1923-1924 the Municipality decided to create, inside a deconsecrated church in 1893, the so-called ‘Chiesa Nuova’ built at the end of the eighteenth century, a cinema hall. In the mid-seventies of the last century, this hall was restored and modified by adding a small stage, thus allowing theatrical performances as well as film screenings. The original church was divided into two floors: on the first floor was placed the Municipal Council Chamber and on the ground floor the so-called Saletta Estense. This room, consisting of an auditorium and a single gallery, is supported by fluted columns with white stucco capitals in late Liberty style; the stucco decorations of the gallery balustrade are also in the same style. Of the ancient church, only the portal on the facade of the building remains.
