Nel 1923-1924 the Municipality decided to create, inside a deconsecrated church in 1893, the so-called ‘Chiesa Nuova’ built at the end of the eighteenth century, a cinema hall. In the mid-Seventies of the past century, this hall was restored and modified by adding a small stage, thus allowing theatrical performances as well as film screenings. The original church was divided into two floors: the first housed the Municipal Council Hall and on the ground floor the so-called Saletta Estense. This room, consisting of an audience area and a single gallery, is supported by fluted columns with white stucco capitals in late Art Nouveau style; the stucco decorations of the gallery balustrade are also in the same style. Only the portal on the facade of the building remains from the ancient church.
