La Pinacoteca “Salvatore Cavallo” is housed in a large building located in the center of the City of San Michele Salentino, just a few meters from the Town Hall. The building consists of two floors, connected by a wide and winding staircase. From a spacious hall, you reach the bookshop and access the Library, which has a space for creative games intended for the youngest users, the youth information desk, and other useful services for citizens. An exhibition annex of the Pinacoteca is the municipal headquarters, where numerous works from the municipal collection, kept in the pinacoteca’s storage, are exhibited on rotation. After a period of closure for redevelopment work, the Pinacoteca has been reopened to the public these days, coinciding with the inauguration of the III National Exhibition of Contemporary Sacred Art “La Forma Eletta” which can be visited from March 15 to April 22, 2012.
