Da un punto di vista naturalistico, la provincia Polokwane, in South Africa, è interessante anche perché qui crescono alcune delle specie vegetali più caratteristiche del South Africa: monumental baobabs, thorny acacias e mopane.
1 What to see in Polokwane
A visit to Polokwane, formerly Pietersburg, cannot ignore the city’s two main museums: the Irish House, dedicated to local history and housed in an elegant Victorian mansion, and the Hugh Exton Photographic Museum, which holds rich photographic collections from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
2 Bakone Malapa Museum
A dozen kilometers outside the city, in the southeast direction, is the Bakone Malapa Museum, an open-air museum area, where a Bakone indigenous village has been faithfully recreated. About fifteen individuals permanently reside there, engaging in traditional crafts and showing tourists the customs and social life of the community.
