Da un punto di vista naturalistico, la provincia Polokwane, in Sudafrica, è interessante anche perché qui crescono alcune delle specie vegetali più caratteristiche del Sudafrica: monumental baobabs, thorny acacias e mopane.
1 What to see in Polokwane
A visit to Polokwane, formerly Pietersburg, cannot ignore the two main city museums: the Irish House, dedicated to local history and housed in an elegant Victorian residence, and the Hugh Exton Photographic Museum, which holds rich photographic collections from the late 19th to early 20th century.
2 Bakone Malapa Museum
A about ten kilometers outside the city, heading southeast, is the Bakone Malapa Museum, an open-air museum area where a Bakone indigenous village has been faithfully recreated. About fifteen individuals permanently reside there, engaging in traditional craft activities and showing tourists the customs and social life.
