The museum is divided into four exhibition sections: the religious rite, plastic art, painting, furnishings, and ceramic coverings.
The first section presents Vestments and Sacred Furnishings, almost entirely located in the large hall. Here you can admire chasubles in gold and silk; various chasubles; a silver monstrance with a statuette of Saint Catherine at the base, silver chalices, an altar cross in mother-of-pearl, very fine stoles, albs, and capes.
Regarding plastic art, the museum exhibits terracotta sculptures by master Giuseppe Criscione and his children Alberto and Paola; over thirty “figurines” of the Ethnographic Nativity Scene of the Iblei in the classic style of Criscione as known throughout Europe. The Nativity Scene is reconstructed on a model representing elements of the architectural and environmental heritage of Chiaramonte.
In the painting section, some canvases by S. Montanucci are exhibited, depicting the interiors of the Churches of San Giovanni Battista, of the SS. Salvatore, of San Vito, and the Sanctuary of Gulfi.
It also hosts a collection by Giacomo Alessi, a well-known ceramic artisan from Caltagirone, who has made ceramic an art form, nationally and across Europe.
