The Museum illustrates the history of Italian gold deposits, with documents ranging from the sixteenth century to the present day, old and recent topographic maps, a rich specific bibliographic collection, brochures, newspapers, engravings, photographs, tools, and objects of use. There are also samples of gold-bearing minerals and primary native gold, as well as flakes and gold dust collected from many watercourses. Additionally, numerous stock certificates issued by mining companies that between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries were involved in Italian mines and gold placers, the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland, and the Colonies are collected here.
