Casa della memoria e delle arti, Vizzini

In the historic center of Vizzini, besides churches and prestigious palaces scattered along the streets, a museum of the Verghian Imaginary has been created containing photos of Giovanni Verga as well as a series of memorabilia, many of which relate to the photographic equipment used by the Master. A permanent exhibition set up at the eighteenth-century Palazzo Costa, once belonging to Gesualdo Costa, a famous surgeon of the 1930s.

Inside the museum is a collection of set photos from films inspired by Verghian works such as “Mastro Don Gesualdo,” “Cavalleria Rusticana,” and “La Lupa.”

This heritage aims to demonstrate how great artists have narrated events and episodes that took place in Sicily and how they have made them known worldwide. The images represent the interior of the museum with the photo collection.
