In the historic center of Vizzini, in addition to churches and prestigious palaces scattered along the streets, a museum of the Verghian Imaginary has been established containing photos of Giovanni Verga as well as a whole series of memorabilia, many of which relate to the photographic equipment that the Maestro used. A permanent exhibition set up at the eighteenth-century Palazzo Costa, which belonged to Gesualdo Costa, a famous surgeon of the 1930s.
Inside the museum is a collection of photos from film sets inspired by Verghian works such as “Mastro Don Gesualdo,” “Cavalleria Rusticana,” and “La Lupa.”
This heritage aims to demonstrate how great artists have narrated events and episodes that occurred in Sicily and how they made them known worldwide. The images show the interior of the museum with the photo collection.
