Documents the evolution of sound recording, from the first phonographic developments on wax cylinders in 1880, to the first 78 rpm recordings, up to new technologies. The collection includes a large array of opera librettos from 1654 to 1900 and some records with spoken words by illustrious figures of our history, such as the inauguration speech of Vittorio Emanuele III. Exhibited are guitars owned and autographed by Robert Plant and Jimmy Page of “Led Zeppelin” and by Bruce Springsteen, along with a series of statues that reproduce, in various sizes and caricatured forms, the greats of rock. The exhibition also includes the discography of the Cesena tenor Alessandro Bonci (1870-1930).
