For diving in the Mediterranean, Cyprus is one of the best spots for various reasons. First of all, the water temperature – generally ranging from a minimum of 16 degrees to a maximum of 28 degrees in some areas – allows for a particularly long diving season throughout the year.

Moreover, off the coast of Cyprus there is an absence of plankton: this means that water visibility is greater, to the benefit of those who love to enjoy the marine landscape here, characterized by underwater cliffs, caves, and passages. Around these natural features, numerous species of colorful fish, sea urchins, sponges, octopuses, mussels, sea anemones, and beautiful corals thrive.

For those who wish to dive in Cyprus in a place rich in history and charm, the recommendation is to head 1.4 kilometers off the coast of Larnaca: here lies the Zenobia, a 142-meter ferry that sank while carrying 104 trucks onboard. The incident dates back to June 7, 1980, and since then, around the wreck – in perfect preservation – the marine landscape has transformed in this sand and rock shoal, also because tuna, groupers, and barracudas live here.
