The Toy Museum is private and is located in an 18th-century noble palace.
It houses a collection of about 400 exquisite toys dating back to the 19th and 20th centuries, originating from Sicily, other Italian regions, and also from European countries.
Displayed in special showcases, you can admire numerous dolls made of porcelain, celluloid, wax, and papier-mâché.
Also exhibited are dollhouses furnished with refined little furniture, pedal cars, rocking horses, and various animals made of fabric or leather.
The collection of these precious toys is the result of the passion of Professor Piraino and his daughters.
The museum also produces and publishes books, catalogs, CDs, and educational and documentary writings, organizes conferences and seminars, and offers restoration courses as well as courses related to the evolution of children’s play activities.
