Of fine Renaissance style, it is located near the eighteenth-century church of Suffragio. Dedicated to the Virgin Annunziata, considered at that time the patroness of the city, it was restored in the nineteenth century. Among the decorative paintings stands out the famous fresco depicting the Baptism of Jesus, a remarkable work painted between 1497 and 1507 by Pietro Vannucci, known as Perugino.
The oratory was built in 1494 commissioned by the Municipality of Foligno, probably by the architect Francesco di Bartolomeo da Pietrasanta. The oratory is located where a miraculous event took place in 1489, corresponding to a fresco depicting an Annunciation. The Municipality wanted to erect the sanctuary in exchange for special protection from the Virgin Mary for the city of Foligno. The internal spaces of the oratory are carefully arranged and distinguished by finely cut marble pillars and cornices. The most important work in the small chapel (votive chapel) is the fresco on the altar of the church of San Giovanni Battista, with the Baptism of Jesus by Perugino.
