In the ancient village of Ceglie, in the well-preserved frescoed rooms of the nineteenth-century Allegretti Palace, is the Emilio Notte Art Gallery, a modern art gallery where you can admire works by the painter Emilio Notte, co-author of the 1912 Futurist Manifesto, who in 1976 donated it to his hometown. Originally from Veneto, a nomad for professional reasons, Notte is especially rooted in the Florentine culture of the Futurist years and in that of Naples in the post-war period. The Art Gallery was opened in 1977 at Allegretti Palace whose facade, redone in 1870 in fine Ceglie stone, features two large portals topped by the heraldic coats of arms of the Allegretti and Cenci families. One hall has a wooden ceiling on which a huge canvas depicting a “Judgment Angel,” by an unknown author, is applied.
