The purpose of the exhibition is essentially to retrace the military history of Monteriggioni through weapons, armor, and also war techniques that characterized the centuries during which the castle was the outpost of the Sienese Republic (early 13th – mid 16th century). Each room is indeed dedicated to a particular moment/event that shaped the history of the walled village, within which the displayed armor and dioramas are contextualized.
