The purpose of the exhibition is essentially to retrace the military history of Monteriggioni through weapons, armor, and also war techniques that have characterized the centuries during which the castle was an outpost of the Sienese Republic (early 13th – mid 16th century). Each room is indeed dedicated to a particular moment/event that has characterized the history of the walled village, within which the armors and dioramas displayed are contextualized.
