Medellin is the second city of Colombia and an important commercial and industrial center.  It is situated at 1475 meters altitude, nestled between mountains and hills. The climate is temperate, ranging from 18 to 28°. The city is approximately 45 minutes flight from Bogota, 45 from Cali, 55 from Cartagena and Barranquilla.

For its beautiful women, friendly and hospitable people, spring-like climate, blooming landscapes, nearby mountains, and Natural Parks, Medellin and its surroundings captivate visitors. A modern city with a vast gastronomic, commercial, and tourist offer, it provides countless opportunities for leisure and business. The population is known for being industrious, business-oriented, and commercially savvy, with a proverbial ability to save money but also great creativity in seasoning and enriching their stories with plenty of color. 
In August, Medellin hosts the famous Flower Festival, and in July Colombiamoda, the latest edition attracted 1,493 international buyers from 21 countries and 6,679 national buyers. In the textile sector, 45,000 direct employees and 135,000 indirect employees are engaged, accounting for 30% of the city’s workforce. 
No one gets bored in Medellin. On every street or corner, there is always something to do. For art lovers, we recommend visiting the Antioquia Museum, which houses many works by Botero. Other interesting places: the Botanical Garden; the “pueblito paisa”; the Water Park; the Park of Wishes; the Barefoot Park; the White Stones Ecological Park; the Montecarlo Farm; Volador and Nutibara; the “Casa Gardeliana” museum; the interactive museum and the “Rafael Uribe” culture museum.
In Medellin, there are 52 movie theaters, 28 theaters, 15 museums, 80 restaurants, 5 huge park-libraries, the Explora Science and Technology Park with the largest freshwater aquarium in Latin America; the Botanical Garden, with an “Orquideorama” that can host 3,000 people; more than 40 shopping centers; nightclubs, some accommodating up to 2,000 people.
Medellin has excellent infrastructure for every kind of event, fairs, congresses, or incentives. In the Main Square, next to the city’s commercial and financial center, stands the Exhibition Palace and the Convention Center, whose largest hall can accommodate up to 3,200 delegates. It also has 9 commission rooms for 10 to 300 delegates and a hall for 1,200 guests reserved for dinners, parties, and cocktails.
Hotels in Medellin: many city hotels also have rooms for 20 to 1,500 delegates. Overall, Medellin offers 71 hotels (of which 10 are luxury and 3 first-class, totaling 1,565 rooms), plus another 8 under construction, making a total of 7,000 rooms. 
Transport: in Medellín, Colombia’s only metro runs, carrying 400,000 passengers daily. Additionally, there is a network of private buses and a cable car (Metrocable). There are 19,000 taxis. The city has two airports, the most important being Jose Maria Cordova Airport, located in the municipality of Rionegro, a 30-minute drive from the center, offering national and international flights, while Enrique Olaya Herrera Airport operates only domestic flights. Medellin is served from Italy via Paris (AirFrance) and Madrid (Avianca, Iberia, or Aircomet) to Bogota, followed by internal flights with various daily frequencies. Flight duration Bogota-Medellin: 30 to 50 minutes depending on the airline. Cartagena-Medellin: 55 minutes. The flag carrier is AVIANCA. Upon departure from the country, an airport tax of about USD $33.00 is charged. The trip from the airport to downtown by taxi takes about 35 minutes and costs about $15,000 or €5.
Climate: Medellin, also called “the city of eternal spring,” enjoys a mild climate throughout the year. The average temperature is around 23°.
