The MdAO – Art Museum was founded in 1995, transforming a private painting collection into a museum, following the suggestions of art historian Basilio Orga. Currently, the MdAO presents to the public some contemporary and modern artworks. The original pieces include sculptures, drawings, watercolors, oils, mixed media, and multiples (engraving, lithographs, and screenprints).
It currently offers visitors a beautiful and unique exhibition collection of works, divided into the sections: twentieth century, twenty-first century, and “of local and regional interest.” In the Twentieth Century Section, notable artists include: Giorgio de Chirico, Carlo Carrà, Renato Guttuso, Michele Cascella, Mario Ceroli, Gianni Dova, Felicita Frai, Giovan Francesco Gonzaga, Nani Tedeschi, Ernesto Treccani, Renzo Vespignani, etc. The Twenty-First Century Section features works by: Athos Faccincani, Paola Epifani (Rabarama), Paola Romano, etc. In the Local and Regional Interest Section, highlighted artists include: Giancarlo Angeloni, Giulio Labruna, Marino Marco Lombardi (contemporary art) and Aldo Pironti (modern art).
