The mausoleum, located near the quarries where on March 24, 1944, the massacre of 335 civilians took place as a reprisal for the attack in via Rasella, preserves relics, newspapers, documents, memorabilia, and photographs related to the German occupation of Rome (1943-1944).

Inside the museum, helmets, hats, mitras, and pistols of the SS are also exhibited, along with drawings made by architect Giuseppe Perugini for the shrine (1944-1951).

The ANFIM (National Association of Italian Martyrs’ Families) organizes free guided tours of the mausoleum. At the association’s headquarters (via Montecatini 8), it is possible to access the library, photographic archive, and video library.

To reach the Mausoleum of the Fosse Ardeatine, you can take Metro A (direction Anagnina) or bus line no. 714 to Piazza di S. Giovanni in Laterano. From there, take line 218, with a stop at Fosse Ardeatine.

From Metro B (direction Laurentina), get off at the Circo Massimo stop and continue with line 118 (direction Lagonegro) to the Catacombe di San Callisto stop.
