In the stone quarry at 1900 m above sea level, a significant number of carbonized fossil plants from the more recent Permian period were found.
It is one of the largest collections of this kind ever uncovered in South Tyrol.
These geological documents have been collected and displayed in a small museum.
They tell us about extinct plants and animals, deserts and seas, volcanic eruptions and earthquakes, glaciers and rivers.
