“The Museum of Peasant Civilization was established in 1980 thanks to the work of Pietro Locapo, a collector and archaeological supervisor who gathered objects related to cereal cultivation, viticulture, pastoralism, some artisanal crafts, animal-drawn transportation systems, children’s games, and traditional clothing, referring to a period between the late 1800s and the 1930s. Originally located in a building on Via G. Vista, then in Via Maggio 1648, the Locapo collection was acquired by the Municipality in 1986 and was moved to Piazza Santa Teresa.”
