It is a museum facility with a predominantly educational character that illustrates the characteristics of the natural environment of the Argenta and Campotto Valleys area through the analysis of its evolution over time, highlighting the relationships between man, nature, and the environment. The visit offers an informative path through the four habitats that characterize the valley landscape: the lamineto, the reed bed, the hygrophilous wood, and the wet meadow, providing visitors with a snapshot of the valley territory and the wildlife inhabiting it, of great naturalistic and environmental significance. The museum is accompanied by a historical section that summarizes the attempts to conquer the territory, with related reclamation works, from the Roman era to the most recent ones carried out with mechanical means, aided by a working plastic model that shows visitors the water regulation system currently practiced. Another section enhances the local culture and territory by rediscovering past traditions and ancient crafts through everyday objects and work tools, while the “hall of the senses” invites visitors to a sensory approach to the valley which, through the reproduction of typical sounds and scents of this environment, introduces the visit to the park.
