De Vita Art Gallery, Chiaramonte Gulfi

It consists of works donated by the De Vita family, by the explicit wish of the Maestro, to the Chiaramonte community. The collection is spread over some rooms of the ancient Montesano palace, where that pictorial symposium somehow enhances the noble architectural profiles.

The predominant techniques are tempera and watercolor, in which the Maestro poured a significant part of his art. But the oil on canvas technique also characterizes a valuable aspect of the Chiaramonte collection. In oil on canvas are the works “Idyllic”, “A Cluster of Illusions”, “The Lighthouse”. Also created with oil technique are the works “Harmonies of Forms”, “Study Fervor”, “Nest”, “Portrait of the Sister”, “Golgotha”, all displayed in one room.

The exhibited works are a sign of a production with a subtle, delicate, yet clear identity, almost territorial, recurring in much painting that reveals unmistakable “Iblean debts”, which Maestro De Vita interprets with inimitable fullness.
