It consists of works donated by the De Vita family, by the explicit will of the Maestro, to the Chiaramonte community. The collection is distributed in some rooms of the ancient Montesano palace, whose noble architectural profiles are somehow exalted by that pictorial symposium.
The techniques of tempera and watercolor prevail, in which the Maestro invested a significant part of his art. But the oil on canvas technique also characterizes a valuable side of the Chiaramonte collection. The works “Idilliaco”, “Un grappolo di illusioni”, “Il Faro” are in oil on canvas. The works “Armonie di forme”, “Fervore di studio”, “Nido”, “ Ritratto della sorella”, “Golgota” are also made with the oil technique, all in one room.
The exhibited works are a sign of a production with a faint, delicate, but clear identity, almost territorial, recurring in much painting that reveals unmistakable “Iblean debts,” which Maestro De Vita interprets with inimitable fullness.
