In the area called Terra Nuova, above the town center, stands the small Church of Sant’Antonio Abate, certainly in the 14th century annexed to a hospital center of the order of the Holy Hermit. What remains of the stone façade, after the demolition of the clock tower that once stood above it at the beginning of the last century, is dominated by the beautiful portal signed by master Andrea Lombardo and dated 1471. Made from the local white stone, the portal still features Romanesque forms with concentric arches, but is rich in Renaissance reliefs and sculptures with musical angels and festoons. It is topped by a spire with flaming Gothic leaves, ending with an angel holding a coat of arms.
