The Church of San Sebastiano stands within Panicale near Piazza Umberto I. The building was constructed between the late 14th and early 15th centuries and was completely rebuilt in 1623. Inside, it houses two important frescoes: the first, by Pietro Vannucci known as Perugino, depicts the Martyrdom of Saint Sebastian (1505), whose background landscape, with the lake and gentle hills, closely resembles the view just outside the building; the second, from the Perugian school, portrays the Madonna enthroned with Child and Music-playing Angels, a detached fresco originally belonging to the Church of Sant’Agostino.
