The Church of SS. Vincent and Anastasius is known by Romans as the Church of the Reeds, because the facade is overloaded with as many as 18 columns, making it resemble a reed bed.
Cardinal Mazarin had his coat of arms placed on the pediment, but he also wanted to include the bust of his niece, a unique case in Rome of a statue with the face of a laywoman. Additionally, the presence of two statues of bare-breasted women on the facade are unique examples in Rome.
Inside, the apse plaques recall that this is where the precordia are kept, part of the embalmed hearts of almost all the popes, starting with Pope Sixtus V up to Pope Leo XIII.
