If your next travel destination is the United States, and specifically California, here are some tips on what to visit in this particular area.
This California guide will focus on urban parks, relaxing oases to visit between attractions and – often – real cultural landmarks.
The Balboa Park in San Diego, for example, besides hosting the zoo, is also home to about twenty museums. Among those, the San Diego Air & Space Museum and the Museum of Photographic Arts are definite must-sees. Naturally, the park is perfect for a simple stroll to recharge among beautiful gardens.
In Los Angeles, two parks deserve special consideration: Exposition Park and Griffith Park. The first houses the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles and the California Science Center, but nature lovers can also enjoy visiting the Rose Garden, with over 15,000 roses.
The second hosts a magnificent planetarium (Griffith Observatory), the Autry National Center about Western history, and The Greek Theatre, a temple for music lovers.
In San Francisco, there is the Golden Gate Park, which is quite large and rich with attractions. For this reason, full tours are organized daily, but you can also explore independently thanks to a dedicated app. Here you will find the California Academy of Sciences, the de Young Museum, and the Conservatory of Flowers.
Different from the others is the park in San José: History San José is entirely dedicated to the rural history of this area, where you can see gardens, crops, and ancient seeds cared for here.
The Sacramento State Capitol park is a celebration of roses with the International World Peace Rose Garden; another thing to do is visit the dome of the State Capitol.
Very active is the Orange County Great Park in Irvine: hot air balloon rides, Farm + Food Lab, art exhibitions, the Sunday market, and much more.
Unique and with character too are Bidwell Park in Chico, Woodward Regional Park in Fresno, and the Alice Keck Park Memorial Garden in Santa Barbara.
