If the next travel destination is the United States and specifically California, here are some ready tips on what to visit in this specific area.
In particular, this California guide will focus on urban parks, oases of relaxation to visit between one attraction and another and – often at the same time – real places of culture.
The Balboa Park in San Diego, for example, besides hosting the zoo, is also the place where about twenty museums are located. Among them, the San Diego Air & Space Museum and the Museum of Photographic Arts are definitely unmissable. Naturally, the park is also perfect for a simple walk to refresh oneself among the beautiful gardens.
There are two parks in Los Angeles that should be considered: Exposition Park and Griffith Park. The first houses the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles and the California Science Center, but nature lovers can also enjoy visiting the Rose Garden, with more than 15,000 roses.
The second hosts a magnificent planetarium (Griffith Observatory), the Autry National Center on the history of the West, and The Greek Theatre, a temple for music lovers.
In San Francisco, instead, there is the Golden Gate Park, which is definitely very large and rich in attractions. It is no coincidence that complete tours are organized daily, but you can also move independently thanks to the dedicated app. Here are the California Academy of Sciences, the Young Museum, and the Conservatory of Flowers.
Different from the previous ones is the park of San José: the History San José is entirely dedicated to the rural history of this area and thus you can see gardens, crops, and ancient seeds cared for here.
The park of Sacramento State Capitol is a riot of roses with the International World Peace Rose Garden; another thing to do is visit the dome of the State Capitol.
Very active is also the Orange County Great Park in Irvine: balloon rides, Farm + Food Lab, painting exhibition, Sunday market, and much more.
Unique and with personality are also the Bidwell Park located in Chico, the Woodward Regional Park in Fresno, and the Alice Keck Park Memorial Garden in Santa Barbara.
