It happens to discover a suggestive amphitheater with 280 seats (work of Francesco Martani, the Bolognese doctor-sculptor who brought the museum to life) framed by cherry trees or to distinguish an eccentric work by the Japanese artist Kan Yasuda among the branches laden with red fruits. The sculptures are not all; inside a modern building, 500 works by the most prestigious Italian painters from the 1500s to today are also on display.
Cà La Ghironda Museum at Ponte Ronca, Zola Predosa
At Ponte Ronca, on the Zola hill, nestles this unique museum where human works and nature’s creations dialogue and merge completely. On a green area of 10 hectares, maintained as woods, vineyards, orchards, and aromatic plants, 210 sculptures by the greatest masters of the 20th century (Manzù, Cascella, Pomodoro, Vangi, Melotti, Cesar, Spoerri…, just to name a few) are scattered, which can be admired following the gentle hilly trail.
