With the establishment of ARCA, listed since 2009 among ICOM and AMEI members, Oltre il Chiostro aims to surpass the classical concept of musealization, with the goal of making the encounter and exchange with today’s artistic production contemporary.
The Museum, organized into six different paths, gathers religious testimonies of contemporary art from 1949 to the present day, created by nationally and internationally renowned artists such as: Carlo Alfano, Vincenzo Aulitto, Aviero Bargagli, Renato Barisani, Annamaria Bova, Robert Carroll, Arturo Casanova, Loredana Cerveglieri, Riccardo Dalisi, Ciro de Falco, Prisco De Vivo, Gianfranco De Angelis, Antonio Del Donno, Stelio Di Bello, Gerardo Di Fiore, Alì Hassoun, Renato Laffranchi, Christian Leperino, Giorgio Longhin, Guglielmo Longobardo, Francesco Lucrezi, Francesco Manes, Stelio Maria Martini, Rosaria Matarese, Dino Migliorini, Serena Nono, Maria Palliggiano, Rosa Panaro, Vincenzo Dino Patroni, Aulo Pedicini, Andrea Pistolesi, Filippo Rossi, Mimma Russo, Italo Schirra, Antonio Tammaro, Anna Trapani, Mauro Vaccai, Carla Viparelli, Samuele Vanni, Pietro and Rino Volpe.
The Museum has also recently started a collaboration with the Italian Association of Nativity Scene Friends, to create a permanent section entirely dedicated to nativity art, in order to highlight the cultural and historical-artistic value of one of the oldest expressions of Neapolitan tradition and culture worldwide.
