The exhibitions are held over approximately 600 sqm along a path based on the chronology of geological and biological events that brought our planet, through slow but continuous changes, to the evolution of living organisms and their environments, preparing the current wonderful biodiversity.
Here you can find the most significant artifacts from the ancient mines of Sardinia, now included within the Geomineral, Historical and Environmental Park of Sardinia, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
In addition to numerous minerals that formed underground on the island more than 500 million years ago, among the many fossils exhibited, you can observe the oldest amphibian in Italy, the very rare Apateon, which inhabited the shores of a lake inside the island 250 million years ago.
