Access to an airline’s lounge is considered one of the top perks of a Business Class ticket. Airport lounges are often cramped, dim, far from departure gates, and the food can be mediocre at best. But that’s certainly not the case for the 10 lounges on our list: these are true havens of tranquility, privacy, and first-class comfort. In fact, you may even want to arrive at the airport early just to enjoy a few hours in one of the world’s 10 best Business Class lounges.

10. BRITISH AIRWAYS GALLERIES LOUNGE, HEATHROW AIRPORT, LONDON

The British Airways Galleries Lounge at Heathrow takes the Business Class experience up a notch compared to most airline lounges. The large, airy space is filled with daylight thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows with great views of the tarmac, while designer fabrics by Osborne and Little add a touch of exclusivity. Guests can enjoy a generous food offering: fresh soup bar, hot and cold appetizers, plenty of snacks, an extensive selection of coffee drinks, and a wide array of wines, beers and spirits.

9. ETIHAD AIRWAYS PREMIUM LOUNGE, ABU DHABI

Etihad’s Premium Lounge at Abu Dhabi International Airport has a chic boutique hotel vibe rather than a typical airport lounge feel. Amenities and facilities abound, including shower suites, champagne bar, cigar lounge, a staffed children’s play area, work and relaxation zones. Several food stations offer an impressive international buffet, refilled frequently, with cold meats, cheeses, pastries, fruit, and hot dishes. The Six Senses Spa is a peaceful urban sanctuary where guests can enjoy a variety of complimentary express treatments.

8. SINGAPORE AIRLINES SILVERKRIS LOUNGE, CHANGI AIRPORT, SINGAPORE

The SilverKris Lounge is Singapore Airlines’ flagship Business Class lounge at Changi Airport. With its “home away from home” concept, lounge spaces are styled as living rooms, dining rooms, and kitchens, enhanced by tastefully selected art. There’s a choice of work and meeting rooms, café/bar, or relax in Italian leather recliners. The gourmet buffet offers a vast choice, from vegetarian and Western favorites to Chinese stir fries, Indian curries, and iconic Singaporean dishes like carrot cake, fried noodles, and chicken rice.

7. FINNAIR PREMIUM LOUNGE, HELSINKI

Finnair’s ultra-white Premium Lounge is the work of Helsinki’s dSign Vertti Kivi & Co, featuring clean Nordic design and dynamic lighting inspired by Finland’s open landscapes. Video projections reflect seasonal changes and time of day. Classic design furniture by Eero Saarinen, such as Tulip and Womb chairs, make it especially inviting. Food and drinks are served on Marimekko china or Iittala glassware, originally created for Finnair. There’s also a kids’ area, Apple computers, staffed bar, and even a unisex sauna for a taste of Finnish culture before flying.

6. STAR ALLIANCE LOUNGE, LAX INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, LOS ANGELES

The award-winning Star Alliance Lounge at LAX’s Tom Bradley International Terminal is managed by Air New Zealand and its alliance partners. Its showpiece: an outdoor terrace where guests can take in views of the runway and distant Hollywood hills. Soak up the California sun by day or unwind by the fire at night. There’s a staffed bar serving complimentary cocktails and refreshments, varied relaxation and work spaces, dining and entertainment areas, plus well-equipped shower suites for a pre-flight refresh.

5. VIRGIN ATLANTIC CLUBHOUSE, HEATHROW AIRPORT, LONDON

A perennial passenger favorite, the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse at London Heathrow makes you feel like you’ve entered a five-star hotel rather than an airport lounge. Set in the exclusive Upper Class wing (with separate check-in), it offers fantastic amenities and a relaxing yet sophisticated atmosphere. Indulge in free à la carte dishes from the Brasserie—including their signature Clubhouse Burger and tapas-style plates. Entertainment includes the iconic red ball sofa, pool table, and games if you’re feeling playful.

4. AIR FRANCE BUSINESS LOUNGE, CDG AIRPORT, PARIS

Air France runs lounges worldwide, but its revamped Business Class lounge at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport is in a league of its own. Reopened in 2018 after a full redesign, this luminous, spacious lounge seats up to 540 guests and is a showcase of French chic. The selection of furniture and boldly colored décor strikes a perfect balance of elegance, comfort, and creativity. Features include a Parisian bistro-style dining corner with live kitchen, a stunning bar designed by Mathieu Lehanneur, and a wellness center with spa rooms, private saunas, and a detox bar.

3. TURKISH AIRLINES BUSINESS LOUNGE, ISTANBUL

To create a guest experience like no other, Turkish Airlines partnered with Istanbul Modern, blending their new Istanbul Airport Business Lounge with a museum. A vast array of facilities awaits: realistic racing track, video game stations, state-of-the-art golf simulator, private rest and shower areas, media wall, cinema, kids’ corner, library, billiard room, prayer room, teleconference space, and spa. The lounge’s cuisine features both Turkish and international specialties—including mantı, traditional Turkish beef dumplings.

2. KLM CROWN LOUNGE, SCHIPHOL AIRPORT, AMSTERDAM

Located between piers E and F, Schiphol’s two-level KLM Crown Lounge stands out with its pioneering Heineken bar, several sleeping cabins, and an outdoor terrace with runway views. Enter the lounge via an escalator lined with about 5,000 miniature blue Delft houses. The lounge is divided into four Dutch-inspired zones: the Polder, the Dutch Mountain, the City, and the Sea—each designed for work, rest, refreshment, dining, and entertainment. There’s even a paid restaurant, Blue, with a menu created by Michelin-starred chef Joris Bijdendijk (note: Blue remains closed post-pandemic).

1. QATAR AIRWAYS AL MOURJAN BUSINESS LOUNGE, DOHA

Qatar Airways’ Al Mourjan Business Lounge at Hamad International Airport is the finest Business Class lounge I have ever experienced. Nothing else currently compares. Its visually stunning space boasts soaring ceilings and a refreshing, resort-like feel. With marble finishes, designer furniture, and bronze walls featuring traditional Arabic calligraphy, the lounge impresses at every turn. Guests have a choice of dining areas with a sumptuous buffet, state-of-the-art business centers, private work pods with personal screens, shower suites, prayer rooms, and entertainment spaces—all exceptionally well designed.
