Il Museo di Storia Naturale di Foggia, inaugurated on April 18, 1996, preserves naturalistic finds and disseminates knowledge about flora, fauna, and ecosystems. Since June 2002, it has been housed inside the building, former Liceo Marconi of Foggia. The care of the scientific and educational activities of the museum, and the ordinary management is entrusted to Società Diomede srl, which provides support and scientific supervision especially for the projects Amphibians and Reptiles Atlas, Gargano Roe Deer, and the Museum’s editorial activity. The Museum has a didactic classroom: equipped with laboratory tables, microscopes with cameras, multimedia computers, electronic scales, and other scientific instruments, it allows students, under the guidance of a Museum operator, to experience the work of a naturalist, for example by engaging in the classification of animal remains dating back even millions of years.
