The cathedral of Otranto is located in the wonderful old village, the historical heart of Otranto, just steps from the bastions; surrounded by the oldest buildings and intriguing paved alleyways.

On the facade stands out a large Renaissance rose window, shining under the sun’s rays and overlooking an elegant Baroque portal. The interiors, with three naves, exude incredible charm, thanks to the spectacular floor mosaic, which depicts the Tree of Life and, according to scholars, is the largest in Europe, created between 1163 and 1165 by the monk Pantaleone, using over six hundred thousand limestone tesserae.
