The Diocesan Museum is located at the Episcopal Complex of the Cathedral and offers an archaeological journey through Roman and early medieval artifacts, exhibition rooms of ancient liturgical furnishings in silver and fabric and other significant works, as well as rooms for temporary exhibitions of contemporary art.
Next to the Museum is the   Cathedral   with a permanent exhibition of its works of art displayed for the worship of the faithful.
Particularly important are the Renaissance panels by Gandolfino da Roreto,  the most important figure in the Asti area between the late fifteenth century and early sixteenth century, initially influenced by Ligurian-Nizzard painting, later oriented towards Lombard culture.
The Museum is completed by a large multifunctional room obtained from the remaining central nave of the ancient Cathedral of San Giovanni.
In it returns  the ancient choir by Baldino de Surso   from 1477
