The Diocesan Museum is located in the Episcopal Complex of the Cathedral and offers an archaeological journey through Roman and early medieval artifacts, rooms exhibiting ancient liturgical furnishings in silver and fabric, and other significant works, as well as rooms hosting temporary contemporary art exhibitions.
Next to the Museum is the Cathedral with a permanent exhibition of its artworks displayed for the devotion of the faithful.
Particularly important are the Renaissance panels by Gandolfino da Roreto, the most prominent figure in the Asti area between the late 1400s and early 1500s, initially influenced by Ligurian-Nice painting, later turning towards Lombard culture.
The Museum is completed by a large multifunctional hall created in the remaining central nave of the ancient Cathedral of San Giovanni.
Within it is the ancient choir by Baldino de Surso from 1477.
